I also highly recommend Steve Smith's "Street Stock Chassis Technology". It took me from a novice, who was clueless on set up, to a top five finisher

I also highly recommend Steve Smith's "Street Stock Chassis Technology". It took me from a novice, who was clueless on set up, to a top five finisher. I didn't have the motor that a lot of other guys had, but I eventually could run with anyone in the corners. This book was of limited help. It does not cover information needed for working with cars beyond the 70's. A new book dealing with today's G-body cars in the pure/street stock area would be a great seller. I've been looking for a book that details roll cage construction, and this book does that nicely. He does use roll cage kits, so there is nothing on how to get nice bends in the tubing. Also there isn't much on set-up, which is intentional. The book is dated, but basic cage construction hasn't changed.

This book is clearly written with lots of useful photos.I would gladly pay 3x the price for a longer book that covers more ground, but you still can't beat this, especially for the price. I'm already nearly done my second car, but this was worth it for some extra tips. I wish I had this at the beginning of the first car! I also highly recommend Steve Smith's "Street Stock Chassis Technology". It took me from a novice, who was clueless on set up, to a top five finisher.
