I'm the parent of a seven-year-old who just started second grade. Reading was one of my focus areas since she was a baby - we read together and now she is reading independently, working her way through chapter books. Though she is a voracious reader, I wanted to make sure she understood what she was reading and knew how to focus in on key reading concepts such as finding the main idea, identifying supporting details, making inferences, etc. all of which are important ingredients for successful reading outcomes.

My son has a disability and it hinders him from being able to infer information from what he is reading. I am using this as a skill book for his homeschooling. It's very low but he is getting better at this skill.

Togar
Disappointed that it has the same question for every single story. This is not the only way students will see this concept on tests.

It's a good workbook to help with inferencing but the writers need to pay attention to their directions for each assignment. Some do not match what they want you to do. Ex...they tell you to fill in the bubbles when you actually have to write the answer.

This is a great resource for teaching inferencing. Some stories could be better, but overall I've gotten a lot of use out of it. Worth every penny!

This is a nice supplement to reinforcing comprehension which is also reading to learn. The passages are short enough where they do not overwhelm someone still learning comprehension mastery.

This has been a great resource for my son. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because there is only a few pages where the child has to write. There should be more of this in the book. Other than that, it is a great workbook.
