The Journeyman by Michael Murray (Paperback, 2003). Michael Murray was born in Preston, in 1964, to Jamaican immigrant parents. Due to the difficulties faced by immigrant families he was sent to live with his aunt in Spanish Town, Jamaica, where he spent his childhood. His career as a professional boxer, which began in 1989, has seen him face no fewer than four world champions and fight for the British title.
Michael Murray writes as a boxer. His hopes, fears and emotions are those of a professional fighter. His story is not that of an internationally famous and wealthy sportsman, but of a journeyman doing his best to follow his trade and earn a living.
