Peter Heehs is an American historian living in Puducherry, India who writes on modern Indian history, spirituality and religion. Much of his work focuses on the Indian freedom fighter and spiritual leader Sri Aurobindo. His publications include twelve books and more than sixty articles in journals and magazines. Peter Heehs was born and educated in the United States but has lived in India since 1971

Nationalism, Terrorism, Communalism. This book is a collection of seven essays – originally published in journals such as History and Theory, Modern Asian Studies, and South Asia – that examine different aspects of the Indian revolutionary movement.

Nationalism, Terrorism, Communalism. Four of the essays deal with specific problems, such as the role of individual actors and foreign influences in the development of Indian revolutionary terrorism.
