I have read one other Balsekar book, Understanding the Teachings. It took a bit of effort to follow the conversations in that book. This book, however, is very clear. Its main message is that by accepting that we have no doership in our lives we will weaken the ego. There is, of course, much more in the book. I highly recommend it.

I have found Ramesh's teachings absolutely incredible. Between this book and two others of his; Consciousness Speaks and Who Cares, I have no more questions and no more doubt. Deeper Self-realization is here. Along with that came a tremendous sense of freedom, joy, and deep abiding peace. Life is essentially the same although my experience of it has changed. All seriousness has vanished. All judgment of others dropped away. I feel 100 lbs lighter! And, trust me, I am only 10 lbs. overweight. LOL You could say Ramesh's teachings in these books topped of my understanding of Truth, answered all remaining questions, which apparently triggered deeper Self realization. Gratitude abounds. I gleaned a LOT from an early chapter in this book titled, Sin and Guilt. You may feel complete after reading this one book although, if you enjoy it, my sense is you'll want to read more of his works. Enjoy! :)

You actually don't have to read this book. You don't have to read any books. ALl you have to do to stop the noise in your head is to Stop. Breath. Listen.
There are alot of great books that can be called "new age' or 'self help'. Before the fickle public even came up with such labels, this was one of the lights showing how to become free of all the mess.
Once you understand that there is nothing that can create confusion or let develope a sense of such outside of yourself, then the real work begins.
Ramesh Balsekar has been credited with being the leader of the non dualist movement.
This book was the first one I'd read by B, and so I didn't know what to expect. There have been three books read now by him and I hope to read more.
It is hard to say whether or not I can recommend this to others, I think it depends on where you are going and what you are ready for.
All I can say is that I was sure glad to be open enough to recieve these timely messages and lessons at the time.

Love Ramesh - I know the ideas in this book may sound like nonsense to a lot of people, but they can really take so much of the confusion and pain out of life. It's probably not going to appeal to everyone, but if you're into nonduality this is a great read. I also really like Roger Castillo, Tony Parsons, Paul Hedderman, Lisa Cairns, and Rupert Spira - their teachings are in the same vein as this.

I really like Ramesh Balsekar 's ability to explain Advaita in plain english.
He also does a fine job of pointing out the similar aspects with Tao and Zen.
