Deck with Flowers book. Perhaps my favourite Cadell so far. This one has a really perplexing mystery, an engaging love story and a nice twist or two. It is full of eccentric yet likeable characters, and, one of the things I like best in Cadell's books, a real mix of generations and people from all over. Lots of funny family interactions and a satisfying ending.

Other readers will always be interested in your opinion of the books you've read. Whether you've loved the book or not, if you give your honest and detailed thoughts then people will find new books that are right for them.

All Cadell's books promise a romance or two, but what makes them fun is the eccentrics she adds to the mix. In this one, we have a retired opera star, who is writing her memoirs, but suddenly stops. The publisher, whose future income depends on selling this book, tries to find out why she suddenly abandoned the project. Meanwhile, we have his sister pining for a man who is trying not to be engaged to a lovely harpy, a landlady who's the troublemaker of the neighborhood, and an eccentric uncle with an entire house filled with trains. When you find out the double meaning of the book's title, I expect you to laugh aloud. Of course, all the romances get straightened out in the end, and there's a lot of fun along the way.
