I bought this book for a college class. Kiersten Thomson is an excellent writer and she is very knowledgable in the crim films genre. It's a good read for any up and coming screen writers or people just interested in crime films.

Still, you can't expect a book slightly over 100 pages to do everything. Too much time is devoted to television (British and American) for my taste, although these elements are important in any consideration of crime films.
