First of all I bought this book for considerably less last year and find it to be either a little pricey now or else people have discovered the great value of having it ?? Interpreting History from Relics Found in Rural Civil War Campsites to me is really part two for the first book Finding Civil War Campsites in Rural Areas. The authors apparently want us to get past finding relics to brag about to detailing out a site as to what and where items are found and maybe even figuring out who were there, if not known by history. Think of all the sites in the eastern theatre that have literally been "raped" of relics with no wimper for leaving to future generations the knowledge of what was found. With the reading of this book one starts to think of theirselves as a quasi archaeologist, piecing together bits of historical information. There is much more to the book and I strongly suggest the purchase of it, but for more the realistic price of around $15, although in my opinion it is worth much more, but probably not $103, unless it is out of print.
