Happy Endings is the fiftieth Virgin New Adventures novel. It is a celebration of many of the elements of the series and features the return of many original New Adventures characters. It therefore has a certain commonality with The Stolen Earth and Journey's End, televised episodes that include significant characters from an entire era of Doctor Who, and The Flood, a comic story which ties a narrative bow around the Eighth Doctor's run in Doctor Who Magazine. The ending of the book is bittersweet The book has a bit of an ambiguous ending.

The ending of the book is bittersweet. It ends differently than the movie does (and, in my opinion, has a better ending than the movie). Allie does remember Noah in the end and he does spend the night with her, as he does in the movie, but Noah does not die. The book has a bit of an ambiguous ending. The Wedding, which is the sequel to The Notebook, reveals that Noah is still alive and that Allie has passed away. Asked in Writing: Plot and Setting. I wrote a romance novel and there was a happy ending

Taibo is quirky. I like the Mexican politics in his books.
He has multiple storylines that sometimes don't seem to connect.

The first time I started reading it, I found it kind of disturbing. However, when I finished it, I actually felt the despair of living in México, as I do.
I couldn't believe that "although the story and the characters are fictitious, the country, however, is real". I read it first in Spanish, and later on I had the chance to bought it in the English version. What I didin't like of it, was that
some names where changed, (like Sara Montiel for John Travolta). Anyway, I became a fan of PIT II from the moment i read that book, and i would like to get all translations that have been made to it.

There is something I appreciate about PIT II's books, they talk about reality. It's ok Hector does not exist but the country does. You should fight hard and to the limit, but you have to know that there can be a no happy ending.

I just could not get into it. Perhaps the English translation? If you want to read a great detective series try Michael Connolly's books featuring Harry Bosch. Brilliant and engaging....
