Jonathan Kellerman has never disappointed me, and this was no exception! What a great story, and how he keep coming up with so plots is beyond me, but he does wonderful work.

One of my favorite authors! I thought I had read all of his booms, but turns out I haven't. Will continue reading any of his books available. Even though this was an older one, I really enjoyed it because I found out the back story of how they acquired their beloved pet Spike!

Incredibly descriptive and boringly so. I'm not sure it's important to know, in minute detail, what every character is wearing. All the description became a huge distraction to the story and I wondered if he was writing about a fashion show or a crime. The story itself was uninteresting and I celebrated when I finished the book.

This is one of his best books to date, I believe. I have read many of his "Alex Delaware" books, and am now reading them in order. This is a much better way to read any author's "series" books. I did the same for his wife, Faye Kellerman, and found I enjoyed them (Decker/Lazerus) much more. I wish he had a more variety of book-to-book characters. He seems to only have Sturgis and Robin (and the dog, of course) that are carried forward in each book - and Robin comes and goes, without much in-put into what the book is about. His wife, Faye, has at least 8 different characters who are carried forwared, and you always look forward to what someone is gong to do....they may not all be in each book, but at least they are a known commodity when they do show up. I do enjoy the Delaware series and am now over half way through the series.....

In my opinion this is not one of the best Kellerman books I have yet read. It is good, but not excellent. Filled with psycho drama it drew me to pick it up each night, but the author seemed to wander a bit and to spend a little too much time building the plot. Just a little bit of fluff that distracted me from the trail of the sleuth. Worth reading so one can continue to follow the life of Alex, Robin, and Milo without forgetting the ongoing development of the main characters that make all Alex Delaware novels worth reading. If you are attracted to the Alex Delaware series for the first time, I suggest you start with an earlier Delaware novel and add this to your reading later.

As usual, Kellerman provides a shocking ending. The Master of Surprise provides another "a no stop reading " book; it will keep you up at night till it's over. Delaware and Sturgis are the perfect team as always. I haven't read about them for years and am re-reading all of them; am enjoying them immensely. Get this if you are fascinated by an intense ending.
