Book by Moore, David. I like to keep a couple of statistics books on hand to reference different scenarios, and this book is a good addition to the group. It's also nice how the content won't change too much in the future, so this book should be relevant for a long time.
This book does what every other stats book does: describes statistics in deeply theoretical terms, tries like hell to bring that to life in vague examples, and then hits hard with notation notation notation. It is not special nor interesting. It just serves to turn off people who might want to become statisticians.
