at Univ of Rochester. Up to fifty fold increases in water soluble conjugated phenylenevinylene polymer fluorescence are observed when these polymers are adsorbed onto silver nanoparticle treated surfaces with layer-by-layer deposited polyelectrolyte spacers. The silver particle density and spacer thickness dependence of the enhancement are investigated. 28 July 1997 San Diego, CA, United States. Showing 5 of 10 published special sections.

PROCEEDINGS VOLUME 2528. Optical and Photonic Applications of Electroactive and Conducting Polymers. has developed a series of poly(aromatic amines) in combination with several novel dopants and dopant combinations to obtain displays and other hardware with very wide multicolor capability, high dynamic range in the IR, and very high cyclability. Conjugated polymers are of great interest due to their unique structure, interesting physical properties, and potential applications in electronic or opto-electronic devices.

Conducting polymers are a remarkable new class of organic materials with potential applications such as light emitting diodes (LEDs) . Optical Probes of Conjugated Polymers III, Eds L. J. Rothberg and Z. V. Vardeny, Proc. SPIE 3145, 132 (1997).

Conducting polymers are a remarkable new class of organic materials with potential applications such as light emitting diodes (LEDs), thin film transistors, solid state batteries and optical.

These include linear and nonlinear optical spectroscopies, resonant Raman scattering, transient and steady state photomodulation, photoluminescence and laser action, and optically detected magnetic resonance spectroscopy.
