There were warnings that the impact could be catastrophic and comparisons with Typhoon Haiyan in 2013, which killed more than 6,000 people, made those in the path of Patricia fear for their lives. Beautifully written, tender and warm, this novel requires a box of Kleenex near at hand while reading. I fell in love with Tucker and cheered for Claire - stayed up way too long reading because I couldn't go to sleep until I reached the end. Highly recommended.

Claire Sherman had everything: wealth, a satisfying career, and plans to start and life and family with her beloved fiance, Tuck. But in the blink of an eye, a car wreck changes everything -- altering Claire's appearance, ruining her health, and robbing her of the chance to give Tuck the family he craves.

She reaches a heart-wrenching decision to allow Tuck to go on with his life in the only way he might . . . by allowing him to believe her dead. But Tuck is powerless to put his loss behind him. Even as it jeopardizes the new life he has begun, he feels compelled to visit a gravesite each October -- and follow a shocking clue to a conclusion he is unprepared to face.

COME OCTOBER is a complex, moving story that explores love, loss, and the myriad consequences of a single decision made under duress. There is nothing simple about Claire and Tuck's dilemma, and their emotions ring true as these complex characters grapple with loss, anger, forgiveness and the effects of their actions on others in their lives. Far more than a simple romance, this story stuck in my mind long after the reading.

COME OCTOBER comes very highly recommended.
