William Shatner's TekWar. TekWar is a series of science fiction novels created by Canadian actor William Shatner and ghost-written by American writer Ron Goulart, published by Putnam. The novels gave rise to a comic book series, video game, and later TV movies and a series, both of the latter featuring Shatner. A new Tekwar comic book adaptation, entitled Tek War Chronicles, by Shatner and comic book writer Scott Davis was released by Bluewater Productions on June 24, 2009.

William Shatner (b. 1931) is a Canadian actor, author, and film director, known for his irreverent charm and his star turn as Captain Kirk in the original Star Trek television series, as well as many other roles. Born and raised in Montreal, Quebec, Shatner was cast in Star Trek as the courageous, unpredictable Captain James T. Kirk in 1966. The show became a cult hit in syndication, leading to a number of spin-offs and movies. Shatner starred in seven Star Trek films beginning with Star Trek: The Motion Picture in 1979.

This started out as another normal Tek novel and I thought that it was going to be another semi-predictable yet still enjoyable story. But then he pulls a major event about a quarter of the way through the book that was hard to believe.

William Shatner’s “TekWar” series continues “Tek Vengeance” and frankly offers a shift in tone and themes. There are some major twists here but also less focus, especially as a good deal of attention is now spent on the main character’s son’s junior detective efforts. Frankly, that subplot takes away from the main plot. Not a bad book by any mean but, even with the changes, this reviewer was left wondering if the series was running out of steam at this point.

Being able to find this book for my collection deserves 5 stars. I like knowing there are still others I need to finally finish collecting the Tek series. If others wanted to know where to buy this book at, I would steer them in your direction.

Bought all of this series when they were first published. Love that they are now on Kindle I have been able to replace my worn out paper backs with digital copies that I can keep forever.

For the rest of the book, I kept waiting for him to explain how what was done was not really the truth. I expected him to undo it. In fact I expected it so much that I never really believed it was real until I finished the novel. At that point, I believed it and was shocked. I was also pleased, pleased that he did not cheapen his plot nor did he patronize the readers. Good job! This is the fourth novel in the series.
