In the South, "gunboat" quilts were made to pay for much-needed gunboats. It wasn't long before it was obvious that soldiers on both sides would need blankets and quilts for warmth. Pattern-pieced bed coverings didn't appear until the 1870s.

Parsis came on the shores of India near my hometown of Udwada in Gujarat. No most of them don't live in Mumbai, they're all over India now, infact Ratan Tata and his family are parsis. Also the reason for there being so few parsis are their customs. They have kept that tradition alive. Sadly much to the detriment of our numbers. The Balfour Declaration and the state of Israel declaring independence was built on top of hundreds of years of history that was mostly about the rise of Europe and the decline of Muslim powers.
