This is the best book I've read by Max Lucado so far. Though he has a tendency to digress, the digressions are valuable lessons on life. One of the best studies our group has had and we've been meeting weekly for 14 years.

Sound familiar? The pink slip comes. The doctor calls. The divorce papers arrive. The check bounces. The life that had been calm is now chaotic. The world that had been serene is now stormy. Assailed by doubts. Pummeled by demands.

If you've ever wondered if God in heaven can relate to you on earth, then read and re-read this pressure-packed day in the life of Christ. It is the only day, aside from the crucifixion, that all four gospels recorded. Lucado has interwoven their accounts in such a way that you will be assured that God knows how you feel.

And you will be assured that within every torrent there is a calm center -- a place you can stand when your world gets windy. The Eye of the Storm.

This is the best book I've read by Max Lucado so far. Though he has a tendency to digress, the digressions are valuable lessons on life. I do feel he could have spent more time on the subject of Jesus' second most stressful day. I would like to have known more about that day and have been able to piece it together.

This was a worthwhile read for me. I learned a lot from it. I don't have one specific story I liked, but I did like the chapter on doubting. It was very beneficial to those of us who aren't perfect in their faith.

I have only read 2 chapters so far but this book is incredible! I am doing a study on it as part of a Women's Life Group in my church. It is written exceptionally well, as the writer has written it in a way for anyone to understand and EVERYONE to relate to. It has taught me to read the Bible in a different way and has helped me connect to Jesus in a way I have never been able to before. I recommend it to everyone!

A good study book for group setting. Chapters are short, spark good discussion, and can be gotten through in an hour, hour and a half format. Sound teaching, but not too theological that it loses half its readers.

I'm going through this book for the third time, this time with a men's group. I love that it has a study guide and the questions are super for generating personal reflection and conversation during group meetings. One of the best studies our group has had and we've been meeting weekly for 14 years.

I really enjoyed this book. This book came to me at a point in time where I really needed it (going through cancer treatments). The author has a unique perspective and expresses himself so well with his writing skills. I learned so much from this book I will probably go back and read it again and use it more as a bible study than an entertaining read although it was a pure pleasure to read as well. God has blessed Mr. Lucado with abilities to craft a book like this; to reach out and grab the average person's intellect and present his points in every day language without making it seem like a scholarly read. I have recommended this book to several of my friends. My advice to you is, buy it and read it, you won't be sorry. Mr. Lucado has written about 100 books and I'm going to check out some more of them. Good stuff.

Without being preachy or overly dense Max has a way that refreshes the soul and renews the spirit within. I appreciated the way he ties the history of the New Testament treatment of Our Lord to every day situations we encounter. That old saying "What would Jesus do? comes to life. Thank you Max.
