Hillary Rodham Clinton
Richard Kozar's biography Hillary Rodham Clinton successfully encompasses the significant aspects of the life of the former First Lady. However, this biography was written and published before the Lewinsky Scandal, so it does not contain information about the period of time that tested Hillary Rodham Clinton's marriage to former President Bill Clinton the most. In this book, Kozar highlights Clinton's growing up years, her life before marrying former President Bill Clinton, and her noteworthy influence in her husband's political aspirations. Kozar is slightly biased in his reporting of Hillary Rodham Clinton's life but explains both the high and low points of it.
Due to Kozar's detailed description of Hillary Rodham Clinton's demanding childhood, the reader obtains an explanation for her driven, ambitious demeanor. Although she was pushed as a young girl, Kozar makes an effort to show that Hillary Rodham Clinton comes from a very loving family. This biography makes it clear that her life is a result of her upbringing. She prioritizes family and has always made an effort to take time out of her busy life for her daughter and husband.
I personally enjoyed reading about Hillary and Bill Clinton's marriage. Although this biography was written before the Lewinsky Scandal, you read that that was not the first time Hillary stood by Bill Clinton's side in the midst of accusations and scandal. Kozar does a fantastic job writing about Hillary Rodham Clinton, while getting all the facts correct.
Kozar's biography of Hillary Rodham Clinton is slightly biased. I only say this because, although he presents both the impressive and questionable moments of Clinton's life, he always comes to the conclusion that she is some sort of perfect being. In instances that Clinton has been at fault, he tells the truth but basks her in a positive light after that. At some point, Hillary Rodham Clinton has made mistakes that should not be approved, and Kozar never supports that.
Hillary Rodham Clinton is a great, factual biography about the former First Lady's life. Richard Kozar writes this book well, and it is enjoyable to read a book that was written before Hillary Clinton began a political career of her own. Although this biography does include information about Hillary Clinton's career success, it is enlightening to read about her personally.
