There is no English, but the colors, entirely in Navajo, are written with the Navajo words for animals that would be unknown to anyone living mostly in Navajo culture, and not found in a bi-lingual dictionary: Flamingo, Parakeet, Swan, Elephant and Seal. Poorly presented and of very low worth as a learning tool.
Brian Wildsmith has deservedly won a reputation as one of the greatest living illustrators of books for children. Raised in England, he studied at the Slade School of Fine Art. In 1962, he published his first book for children, ABC, for which he was awarded the Kate Greenaway Medal, Britain's highest honor in the field.
