Written by Robert Munsch. Illustrated by Michael Martchenko. That doll idea stayed in my head and eventually it turned into the story Something Good. The kids in it are my own kids and my wife Ann appears in the last page

Written by Robert Munsch. Published by Annikins, 1995. Something Good started with grocery shopping. Every Thursday I do the family food shopping. The kids in it are my own kids and my wife Ann appears in the last page. The week after this book came out I was taking Tyya through the supermarket and she decided she wanted sugary marshmallow cereal. I never get that for her.

Something Good by Munsch and Martchenko. The illustrations look good, and this features and interracial family. Worth investigating further. Robert Munsch reads his books free online. “Something good” is exactly what Tyya, Andrew and Julie want to put into their shopping cart. Tyya’s dad won’t buy anything good at the store—no ice cream, no candy, no cookies. But when the saleslady puts a price sticker on Tyya’s nose, Daddy is finally forced to buy something good.

Don't purchase this book! While the story is cute, what you will receive is a book that is 2 inches square. My intent was to read this book to a classroom. Needless to say, not only would I have a hard time seeing the words, but it would be virtually impossible for the students to see the pictures. At this purchase price, with a delivery charge, to boot, I feel as though I have been duped. Nothing on the website indicated that the book would be a paperback miniature. If this were bought at the 99 Cent Store, it wouldn't be a good value.

Great story that is funny and also puts father's in a good light with kids. My daughter loves it. She things the little girl Trya and things she is so funny. Julie loves sweets too and she could easily relate to this story. Although Julie has never wandered off from me in a grocery store, I have found unexpected items in my cart that no one seems to know how they got there. However, never had we have 100 boxes of ice cream appear in a cart. Julie laughed a whole bunch at this because she has recently figured out how much 100 items are now. I love that the Daddy is consistent with his kids and that it shows him taking good care of his kids in wanting to have them eat good food and not sugary snacks. In the end the Daddy shows that he loves his daughter no matter what. This was a great lessen to share with my own daughter. Great Book.

Pretty disappointed to find this book is teeny tiny. Like, could fit in my wallet, credit card tiny. It should specify when choosing format “tiny paperback” or something....

This is a tiny book (2-3 inches square). I like to carry them in my purse to pull out when my kids are bored, and they're great for that. The pages are glossy, the print quality is good, and the illustrations are all full-color.

I love Robert Munsch but this book is tiny. I wish I would have read the reviews first. Very disappointed!

I just read this book to my 5 year old grandson. It is our third book by Munsch. All have been delightful. Great for the 2-7 year old group with repetitive phrases that are quickly memorized so that on a second reading they are filling in phrases or speaking the lines of the main character. And as any parent who has gone grocery shopping with children in tow knows that many "good things" get into the cart it puts a fun spin on grocery shopping with young children.

Perhaps the dimensions of the book should be made obvious so that people will know to go somewhere else for a proper size book. I really needed this for my class, but it is much to small for anyone of the students to see as a whole class activity.

Absolutely ridiculous - who tries to find dimensions for a book?!? This book is smaller than your hand, and impossible to read. I should have read the reviews first, but I knew I wanted this title - just in normal book size!
