Many months have passed since part angel siblings Jonah, Eliza, and Jeremiah Stone began their angelic training. As part angels, or quarterlings, the siblings joined other children of nephilim to begin honing their special powers.

In this third installment in the Son of Angels series, Jonah’s story comes to resemble a modern-day Job as he’s faced with trials that affect his health, strength, relationships, and most-prized possessions. As he and the other quarterlings prepare for mid-term exams, their powers are tested once again in the most fierce battle against Abaddon’s forces yet. Will Jonah’s faith in Elohim continue to persevere as he fights Abaddon in his hardest battle yet?

Parents today are looking for fiction that makes Christianity and the Bible exciting for their kids. This series is the first Christian answer to Percy Jackson and the Olympians, the Kane Chronicles, the Secret Series, and other middle-grade series packed with action, adventure, and supernatural fights. But the message is solidly based in Scripture, conveying God is always in control.

Meets national education standards.

Back for a third entry, Jonah, Eliza, and Jeremiah Stone face their biggest trials yet in SHADOW CHASER, book three in the SON OF ANGELS series by Jerel Law.

SHADOW CHASER takes off right where FIRE PROPHET, book two, left off with Jonah and his siblings at Angel School in New York City. Something evil is lurking in the shadows of the convent where the Quarterlings, part humans, part angelic Nephilim, have been living, studying, and growing closer to God. And coming up next? But Jonah Stone has other problems: he keeps hearing strange voices in the dark of night. A shadow seems to creep about in every corner. Not to mention that his face has now been covered in zits and all the other kids in the convent want nothing to do with him. Can Jonah figure out what's happening in the dark before it overtakes them all?

This entry in the SON OF ANGELS series is not necessarily my favorite of the three so far, but it's still a good, fun read. Some readers may feel that this book is like an extended add-on to FIRE PROPHET, with a lot of the action centering around the Angel School in the convent. At times I kept wondering if things would get shaken up a bit, but they stayed pretty much on course until near the end. I won't give anything away, but something happens at the end of this book that was truly shocking. I'm very interested to see where this story goes in the final book: TRUTH RUNNER.

Although parts of the plot feel like a redux, Jonah definitely has the most character development in this book. His life begins to resemble that of an Old Testament prophet, complete with the trials and temptations that came to many of those men and women of God. Jonah's struggle with his friends feels very real to life, and he grows through the things happening to him rather than becoming vengeful.

Those who have followed Jonah thus far will enjoy SHADOW CHASER, but newcomers would do best to go back to book one, SPIRIT FIGHTER. Jerel Law remains a solid author with some very different stories to tell. Definitely worth a read.

This is the third in a series of older children - YA books. The stone children and several others are going to "angel" school to learn how to use their angel weapons like drawing an invisible arrow to shoot at the evil ones. They also have special spiritual gifts such as speed running or strength.

What I like is the realistic part for these quarter angels (a human parent and a half angel parent) who have real life temptations. The falling to these temptations and subsequent repentance gives a dose of reality to this genre of writing.

I am a somewhat older adult and found this book beyond delightful and full of twists that would keep even the most die-hard thriller reader happy.

Worth the time to read it.

I like that the book was so meaningful and enchanting. This book has helped me to discover many things about the bible and Elohim. Thank you Jerel Law for this amazing series and I'm looking forward to it when you write more books! Always know that Elohim is with you as well as Jonah. My favorite gift is Jerimiah's Belt of Truth. I gave the book 5 stars because the way it was written gave me such a clear picture in my mind and I sometimes even felt like Eliza or Jonah. I am not Andre, he's my dad. I'm Kiara, 11 years old. Good luck on your path with Elohim! ❤️????????????????❣????????????????????????????????????

This book is the saddest of the series. Jonah is tested in unbelievable ways and he is not the hero in this book. He never loses faith, but he definitely questions himself in this story and how he will press on. At the same time, he is able to learn much more about Elohim and how to trust Him more. This story resembles the book of Job in the Old Testament, but it was challenging to read how Jonah suffers. Great story and such a pleasure to see more of the Stone siblings adventure :)

I purchased the whole series for my son as a Christmas gift and he loves them. I have read the first book and even an adult can enjoy this series.

Jewel Law continues this excellent series once again wonderfully showing God's power & the fact that He alone is ultimately in control whether it be in our physical life or in the real battle being fought in the spirit realm. Very well written series that is interesting and compelling reading whether one is a youth or an adult. I highly recommend this series.

This book is really good, although it is kind of sad in the end.
Jonah really actually starts to understand God in a way that
not many people understand (I certainly don't!) Any way, I personally think that you're a Christian or a Harry Potter fan you should TOTALLY get this book ( just get the other ones first. They are: "Spirit Fighter" 1 & "Truth Runner" 2.) Anyway, get this book !!!!!!!!
