Not thrilled. I found this book boring and wondered where the STORY was. Beware the Santa chapter. I feel like that chapter was really kind of cruel and thoughtless. Wish this book had had a warning---wish I had read reviews.

I read this to my 6/7 year old son because he loves the Fudge books. I'd like to thank all the people who warned me about the Santa Clause part of the book. I agree that if your child is young enough to be read chapter books (like mine), you may not want them knowing about Santa yet. For those people, the Santa pages are in Chapter 9. You just have to read ahead a little and skip that part. Also at the end, in the last chapter I believe, you can also skip the part where he says he knows about Santa. Fudge does do some funny stuff like making the whole family write Santa letters and that's when Peter tries to "correct" him. Hope this helps!

My students love these characters. They have been begging for more. We are about 3 chapters in and they are glued. Great for building Character, plot, compare and contrast, and really every skill! Thank you Judy Blume!

Read it as a kid and now I am sharing it with my daughter. She asks for it every night.

My five-year-old now has the cleanest teeth in a five-mile radius thanks to Judy Blume. He loves Fudge so much he reminds us it's bedtime and runs to the bathroom for tooth-brushing just so we can get to reading. Dentists around the world should pay homage to Ms. Blume because I'm certain we are not alone.

Would purchase this book again and again. I've actually purchased it twice, once when my older children were small, and now that I have younger children again. You can't go wrong with the Fudge series. Recommend reading Tales of a Fourth Grade Nothing and Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great first.

My wife and I both loved this book as kids. We read this entire series to our child. It's still very funny and keeps our first grader entertained.
