The Bonnie Prince book. The epic two-match 1970 FA Cup final against arch-enemies Leeds remains to this day one of the most-watched television events ever in the United Kingdom.

Charlie Cooke, Martin Knight. Before Joe Cole, Dennis Wise and Frank Leboeuf were 'Here, There and Every Where', there was Charlie Cooke. He arrived at Chelsea in 1966 as a replacement for club favourite Terry Venables and promptly delighted the fans with his superb ball skills, searing runs and perceptive crosses. Most spectacular of all was his magical body swerve that triggered a collective mega-decibel sigh from the Shed. They called him 'the Magician', 'the Maestro' and 'the Wizard', or just 'Charlie, Charlie, Charlie Cooke'.

But unlike most of the other British players, Cooke stayed on in the USA, helping the country to develop as a soccer nation.

Charlie Cooke arrived at Chelsea in 1966 as a replacement for club favorite and promptly delighted the fans with his superb ball skills, searing runs, and perceptive crosses. Cooke became a pivotal member of the mercurial Chelsea side of the late 1960s and 1970s, playing alongside the likes of Peter Bonetti, Alan Hudson, and Peter Osgood. Like many of the era, Cooke finished his career in America, where he played with and against the likes of George Best and Pele. But unlike most of the other British players, Cooke stayed on in the USA, helping the country to develop as a soccer nation. Insightful, exciting, and entertaining, this is a detailed account of a special footballer, once seen never forgotten.

Tommy Doc always had an eye for a decent footballer and surely Charlie must rank as one of his best purchases!!!!This is also a good read on what footballers got up to in London in the late 60s.It also scores really well on what the NASL of the early/mid 70s was actually like......He certainly wasn't out of his league wherever he played over in North America, whether it was Memphis , or Los Angeles or California. I would have to read his book again to see who he played with/against in the US but certainly there were some brilliant players over there! Pele/Carlos Alberto/Neeskens/George Best/ Johan Cruyff??? etc.etc.etc . It is appalling that he only played 16 times for Scotland but Scotland surely has a history of overlooking/ignoring their really talented players...this continues to the present day.......!!!!!
