Reading again the lyrics of Viva La Vida just after ending a book about Louis XVI (Louis Vincent - and Stephan Zweig with Marie-Antointte) makes everything clear to me: THE SONG IS OBVIOUSLY HIM! And let me tell you why: 1. "I used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning, I sleep alone". k views · View 58 Upvoters. Shubhojit Chattopadhyay, fan of Coldplay. I used to rule the world Seas would rise when I gave the word Now in the morning I sleep alone Sweep the streets I used to own. I used to roll the dice Feel the fear in my enemy's eyes Listened as the crowd would sing Now the old king is dead long live the king One minute I held the key Next the walls were closed on me And I discovered that my castles stand Upon pillars of salt and pillars of sand.

oh-oh-oh oh-oh) I know Saint Peter won't call my name Never an honest word But that was when I ruled the world. The name Viva La Vida derives from the Spanish phrase meaning Live the life. It takes its name from the painting by Mexican artist Frida Kahlo

First off, this book is not for beginner pianists. In no way are the songs easy to play.
That being said, if you are a fan of Coldplay music and would like to learn how to play their songs on the piano, this is a good book for you. The songs are difficult to play, many of them with four flats or sharps. Some of them also contain odd rhythms that are often found in more contemporary piano music.
The music itself is fairly accurate. It contains one line of treble clef for voice, chords for the guitar, and a treble and bass clef for the piano accompaniment. However, I feel that a couple pieces are missing instrumental bridges. Towards the end of Lost! there is a completely instrumental part that I love, but it wasn't in the music.
Overall impression: difficult to learn, fun to play.

One of the best albums of all time, and they have a book just for early learners playing guitar! Really awesome! I would totally recommend this!

I've been waiting patiently for this book to arrive and today was the day and WOW! am I knocked out, or what. The arrangements are thoughtful and complete, they're in the same keys that they're performed in so I can play along with the band. My students will love this book. I would strongly recommend it to any Cold Play fan with reasonable musical skills. If you can play in C-F & G only this book isn't for you, but if you play in a band it's perfect. The retail price is $18 and the Amazon price is great too.

Bravo Well Done!!

Okay, so you want to play coldplay on the piano, otherwise you wouldn't be looking at this. This is exactly what it looks like, coldplay piano/vocal book, theres also guitar tablature if you like, i believe theres a guitar only version of this book. Anyway, it the songs are good but most of them are pretty tricky so i wouldn't recommend them to novices, but if you've been playing a while and want to play, and arent afraid of a challenge, go for it. But the thing that says buy them together is a trick, because the "X & Y" book is guitar only, i ended up returning that, as i do not play guitar. The "A Rush of Blood to the Head" book should be good, but i dunno because i got that one somewhere else, you might want to check before you do that one.

I didn't realize that "Lost?" was a bonus track from Apple iTunes (and Japan), and only "Lost!" was on the standard US album. I bought this piano book almost entirely because I was inspired to learn the amazing piano-only version of "Lost?". It's not in this book, and I am more than disappointed - I'm mad. Almost every song in this book has 4+ sharps/flats, and sure, Chris Martin may play those keys easily, but I don't. Only Reign of Love is reasonably easy to play right off the bat, and I have been playing for over 20 years, though I am admittedly rusty at sightreading many sharps and flats. I have every single Coldplay album piano book, and this is by far the most disappointing if you plan to play and sing along. I feel like I wasted my money, and now I have to try to find the piano music for "Lost?" separately.
