The tab book is not always what you hear from Hookers recordings, but this may
be due to the many years he played the same songs and probably changed a note here
and there.
I find with most tab books, they are a good base to go from, but would recommend
you find other tabs online and just go with your gut instinct if something does not
sound right, which is pretty much what John Lee Hooker was all about (Gut instinct).
I have this book of Hooker and the Definitive Collection CD to hear what he is actually doing
and a TASCAM to loop and slow it down. With these three tools, I am progressing at a good pace,
and enjoying his finger picking style.

Everytime a put my eyes on a new blues guitar book (and I've got some dozens of them) I keep on making me just the same old question: Why in the hell (almost) nobody gave a single clue on the exact dates of the transcribed recording, if the book does not enclosed the audio too? The blues can't be learned just reading on a tab, you MUST listen to them, or the book will be useless. That said, it's always good news to see a book on John Lee Hooker. But...
